Flexible Informatics (formerly EchoAnalysis, LLC), a software and services company based in Bala Cynwyd, PA, provides innovative software and web-based solutions for problems faced by physicians and other health care professionals. Founded in 1998 by two University of Pennsylvania physicians, Drs. Craig Scott and Kevin Duffy.
Unlike most software which requires programmers to consult with experts, Flexible Informatics' unique solutions have been designed by the very people who use them. We provide the highest quality software designed by and created specifically for health care.
How EncaptureMD was born
"Why do I have to pay so much for transcription?!" "Why does it take so long to get a report to the chart?"
Our business administrator asked these questions in 1998. We agreed. We also knew the magnitude of the problem. Doctors don't like change, don't want to be forced to do something a certain way and certainly don't want to spend even more of our time doing busy work.
Medical reporting at that time was a combination of dictation, handwritten notes, numerous phone calls to get results and hours of filing, checking and re-checking reports before they were released, often after the patient had been discharged from the hospital.
With backgrounds in engineering, computer science and informatics we set out to create a system doctors would want to use. One that made their work more efficient, more accurate and more consistent. Our first systems, which are still in use after 9 years, have been used to interpret hundreds of thousands of procedures.

Team
Craig Scott, M.D., F.A.C.C., F.A.S.E
Dr. Scott is a founder and managing partner at Flexible Informatics. Until 2005, Dr. Scott was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania where he specialized in Cardiology, pre-operative solid organ transplantation evaluation, echocardiography and informatics. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography and is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine and Echocardiography. Dr. Scott has an undergraduate degree in electrical and biomedical engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University. With Dr. Duffy, he is presently overseeing business operations and product development.
Kevin Duffy, M.D.
Dr. Duffy is a founder and managing partner
at Flexible Informatics in charge of product development. He has an
undergraduate degree in computer science from Harvard, received his
M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, and is a Cardiologist with
a specialty in echocardiography, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging
and stress testing. He is board certified in Internal Medicine Cardiology,
Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Duffy has extensive experience
in computer graphics, information systems, and database integration.
Through the development of EncaptureMD, COAST, and EchoAnalysis, he and
Dr. Scott have built Flexible Informatics into a cutting-edge medical
information management company.
Mike Simon
Vice President of Marketing and Business Development
Mike Simon is the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Flexible Informatics. Prior to joining Flexible Informatics, Mike worked as a consultant for Deloitte consulting group, where he led technology and operations projects for health and public sector Fortune 1000 companies. He was head of business development and sales at Centerwheel Corporation. Mike founded the Blue Sphere Group and successfully executed business development and sales strategies for early stage technology companies. Mike holds a BA from Northwestern University. In his free time, Mike serves on the boards of the non-profit organizations.
